Welcome to our little corner of the internet. We are so happy that you found us because we are two teachers on a mission to empower and support new teachers!!

Life as an early career teacher is usually a whirlwind of emotions. It can feel overwhelming and as though you’ve been thrown in the deep end; left to work out everything on your own.

But at the same time there are so many teacher Instagram accounts and websites with so much helpful information. Leaving you just as overwhelmed trying to sift through all the content and figure out how it will best help you!

We remember what this feeling was like as a new teacher!

Here are 5 quick tips to help you survive your first year in teaching (and many more after that):

You are going to have good days and bad days. Don’t let the bad days define you as a teacher.

You will have students that challenge you, make you shed bucket loads of tears, and laugh uncontrollably. These will be the kids who stretch you to your limits but help you grow exponentially as a teacher.

Don’t check your emails once you’ve left work – it can wait until tomorrow!

Trust yourself and walk in confident! – You decided to become a teacher for a reason, and it may be early or later in your life. You bring an abundance of world knowledge, life experiences, and an arsenal of current teaching skills to your class of students.

It is okay to make mistakes. Learn from them and move on.
